Diorama - Droid Hunt - WIP # 2

Es folgt Phase #2 meines 3. Mini Diorama "Droid Hunt". Mittlerweile ist es fertig und ich Gedenke am kommenden Wochenende to make the final images. You have to be patient for a few days, since it is WIP 5 phases, while the 5th Phase is also the last.

CONSTRUCTION
Phase 2 is a very pleasant, usually I arrange the figures and decide quickly whether what changes in the number or equipment. Once that is done I put the toothpick. After that I never touch plaster and rub all that is needed. The scenery can be even close to it is another outdoor diorama, but I have a surprise, but only those in Phase 3, next Monday.

Auf der UK Toy Fair sind die ersten Bilder des kommenden 6. Wave (in Deutschland möglichweise 2. Wave 2011) der Basic Line der The Vintage Collection vorgestellt worden. Auch der zweite Mix-Wave ist, meiner Meinung nach, hervorragend gemischt worden, aber schaut es euch selbst an.

CfP Sonic Doom: Decay, Disease, and Destruction in Music

From the Requiem Mass to death metal, from mourning to torture, music has long been used as a means of evoking, communicating, and sometimes creating decay, disease, and destruction. Music can represent otherwise inexpressible states of sublimity and pain, and can function as a means of representing, mediating, and understanding violence and loss.
We invite you to join us in opening new dialogues on the darker side of musical and sonic culture. The many possible avenues of inquiry include, but are not limited to, investigations of violence, death, and disease in music, the destructive or restorative possibilities of sound, the effects of music and sound on the body, and questions of decadence and decay.
"Echo: a music-centered journal" is pleased to announce its fifth annual conference, "Sonic Doom: Decay, Disease, and Destruction in Music," to be held at UCLA on May 13-14. James Deaville (Carleton University) and Mitchell Morris (University of California, Los Angeles) will give the keynote addresses. Scholars from all disciplinary and methodological backgrounds are invited to submit proposals for papers on this theme. We also welcome proposals for presentations that deviate from the standard paper format, including performances, lecture recitals, multimedia work, etc.
Presentations will each be twenty minutes long (around 2400 words), followed by ten minutes for discussion.Individual presenters should submit an abstract of 300 words or less, and should also include: 1) the paper or presentation title; 2) the author's name and a brief biography (50-100 words); 3) institutional affiliation and contact information; 4) audio-visual requirements. Proposals for pre-arranged panels of two or three papers are also welcome (although individual papers from panel submissions might be selected separately). Panel proposals should include all of the above requirements for each member of the panel, as well as a separate, more general description of the panel's overall theme (200-250 words).

plans to publish a collection of essays on "lyrics in Metal," which deals with issues of reception and understanding of metal-Lyrics: What themes are present and how are these issues? What do the lyrics for the fan and how these meanings are negotiated? What is the relevance of Metal-texts - as a critical and popular cultural commentary, as a way of escapism and as avant-garde literature? What impact have generic and intertextual relationship and textual Arguments with literary and mythical role models? The publication aims to combine text and cultural studies, also an interdisciplinary perspective is sought, including the music-scientific, historical and educational perspectives. It is also directed to a non-scientific audience, so that general surveys, a non-technical style and practical examples are encouraged. Final papers should include about 5000-10000 words; Abstracts of up to 300 words should be sent to at 01/08/2011

Pommesgabel, mano cornuta usw. ... ? Die hier veröffentlichte Grafik soll von einem frühneuzeitlichen Zeichner namens Hans Burgkmair (1473-1531) stammen und eine Karikatur auf die schlechten Lehrer darstellen. Der Lehrer erinnert allerdings eher an einen fanatischen Prediger - da ist es kein Wunder, dass die Schüler ihn mit einer frühen Form der mano cornuta von sich fernzuhalten versuchen. Ob es ein Zufall ist, dass gerade 7 Schüler dargestellt sind?
